Consigning with The Clothes Secret
The Clothes Secret has two take-in periods every year:
Spring and Summer – January 15 to April 15
Fall and Winter – July 15 to October 15
First-time consigners: A new block of appointments opens up each Monday morning for the week to come. Please call for an appointment. For your first visit, you will be limited to your best 15 pieces.
Existing consignors: If you do not want items returned to you that are not accepted for sale, you may drop off your items at any time – clean & pressed, on hangers, in garment bags. Your non-accepted items will be donated to the Lowertown Good Neighbours Community House.
If you do want items returned to you that are not accepted for sale, please call and make an appointment. We will go through your pieces on the spot and return any items immediately, saving you a trip back to the store to retrieve them after your items are processed.
Tips for getting the best prices for your consigned items:
Examine the clothes you want to bring in a bright, well-lit space. Missing buttons, glitchy zippers, spots, hole or stains will be easier to see. We cannot accept items with these flaws, no matter how great the label. Wash, dry clean and/or press all items – the better they look coming in, the higher the selling price and the faster they will sell. Leave labels on, and original hang tags on unworn items. These add value.
